Lakeland Mold Infested Walls

The lower area of these walls in a Lakeland home was flooded from a storm. The homeowner removed the water, but not all of the moisture, from the carpet. This led to a significant mold infestation within the wall cavities that also affected the wood framing. Our SERVPRO mold remediation team assessed the situation and gutted the lower portion of the fungus-contaminated walls after positioning air scrubbers and isolation barriers to prevent cross-contamination. Once exposed and dried with air movers and a dehumidifier, we scraped away the mold growth, applied an antimicrobial agent, and checked several days later for the results. The abatement was successful; the affected wall cavities were dry, so we then applied an antifungal paint to the studs in preparation for sealing the walls.
