Highland City Storm Damage
The visible damage to this Highland City home resulted from stormy weather that drenched the attic and ceiling with a deluge of water. The sagging overhead lathe and plaster ceiling was a safety hazard. SERVPRO technicians removed and tossed these building elements and then set up drying methods to expedite this step of the storm damage restoration process. Plastic sheeting (see the blue taped poly) was utilized to create barriers to limit the dirt and dust from spreading during the demolition as well as a means of reducing the size of the drying area. After the final inspection had documented normal interior moisture levels, new poly was placed as an added vapor barrier above the ceiling beams, and the structure was ready for the reconstruction of the ceiling.
