Storm Damage – Bartow Home
Storm damage struck this Bartow home when a set of sliding glass doors was broken by flying debris caused by winds of a severe thunderstorm. Gallons of rainwater blew into the interior of the house soaking the carpeting in this room. SERVPRO of Bartow / Lakeland Highlands was called in to clean up the water. The first thing our technicians would need to do was to remove the contents from the water damaged room. Then the condition of the subflooring would be determined with the use of hi-tech moisture detection devices. Fortunately, the subfloor had not absorbed much moisture. The next step would be to suction up the water from the carpeting and then to clean the carpeting as the rainwater had brought in dirty water from the outside. The following step was to dry the carpeting. Commercial air movers and dehumidifiers would be used to speed up this process.
